Dai Fujihara
Mercari, Inc. Engineering Manager in Automation, Test and Quality
Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan
Over five years experience as a development lead in the development of business systems for enterprise and in the development of portal sites for companies using overseas application server product.
Have worked as an agile coach since 2010, helping to introduce agile, lean, scrum, and other similar methods into the web app development process. Strived to create a unified team and improve different aspects of workflow while working alongside team members to develop/operate such services as news sites, social networking sites, blogs, etc.
Took part in the Agile Conference held each year in America from 2010~2012, and after presenting about my experience as a participant at the event itself, I began carrying out a number of promotional activities back in Japan as well. Beyond presenting at conferences any study groups, I also volunteered as a staff member at different events and hosted my own events as well. In addition, I helped translate the book “Lean from the Trenches: Managing Large-Scale Projects with Kanban” into Japanese (https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/427406932X).
I later served as an engineering manager helping to develop an e-commerce site, and I continue to serve as a manager today with Mercari’s QA & SET team. In my role as manager, I am always searching for new ways to improve workflow and–through successful team management–to create a development process which utilizes technical and business resources to their fullest potential.
